CLINICAL SUPERVISION
My approach to supervision is collaborative and tailored to the unique needs of each supervisee. I believe it is important to take the time to get to know what your strengths are, what goals you are working toward, and develop a plan for supervision that considers how you learn best.

In supervision, I aim to find the right balance of direction and guidance, reflective practice, building theoretical understanding, and using strategies such as observation and role-play to enhance applied learning.

I also understand the work of being a psychologist can cause challenges to self-esteem, and many psychologists struggle with imposter syndrome. I believe there is ‘no silly question’ and encourage my supervisees to share their vulnerability and doubts in supervision. I really value this aspect of supervision as I enjoy building supervisees confidence by breaking down complex ideas and skills into something more digestible, building reflective practice skills, and helping supervisees recognise or build their competence in specific areas.

A core competence of a supervisor is to ensure supervision is meeting the needs of the supervisee, and that they feel safe to share their challenges in supervision. I welcome my supervisees to provide me with feedback in supervision, and regularly send supervision satisfaction surveys.
